Details: The bait used in The Hex-Pro Termite System is called Shatter(TM) termite bait. The active ingredient is hexaflumuron, an insect growth regulator (chitin synthesis inhibitors) that stops the termites' vital molting process so they are unable to grow. As a result, they die. Hexaflumuron has demonstrated 10 years of in-field success killing, controlling, and eliminating termites. Hex Pro Termite Baiting System (Sentricon) Uses / Application: Complete in-ground termite baiting system that combines a termite monitoring station (Hex Pro Termite Bait Station) with a termite bait toxicant (Shatter Termite Bait Cartridges) to kill subterranean termites and their colonies. This system is effective against coptotermes, reticulitermes and heterotermes spp. and is intended to form the basis of an ongoing program. Use of this system involves 3 steps - (1) monitoring for the presence or activity of termites in and around the target site, (2) delivery of a slow acting insect growth regulator (IGR) such as Shatter Termite Bait when and where the presence or activity of subterranean termites has been detected, and (3), resumption of monitoring for the presence of termites after control has been achieved. Install (1) Hex Pro Termite Bait Station every 8-10 feet but not more than 20 feet around the outer perimeter of structures. Inspect every 30 - 90 days. When termites have been detected in the station, replace the monitoring wood with (1) Shatter Termite Bait cartridge. Re-inspect every 30 days, replace cartridge as it is consumed. Replace wood monitor detectors as needed or as damaged by insects or fungal decay.
